Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival of Lhasa
Upon your arrival in Lahsa, our professional tour guide will pick you up at Konggar airport. Transfer to Lhasa city with about 1.5 hours' driving (100km). Rest and acclimatize to the the high altitude. Visit the bazaar of the Barkhor Street.

Barkhor Street: Lhasa's most interesting pilgrimage circuit. This area of the Old Town is both the spiritual heart of Lhasa and the main commercial district for Tibetans.
Day 02:

Lhasa
Visit Potala Palace, the Sera Monastery, the Norbulingka Park and a Tibetan family. (BL)

Potala Palace: Lhasa's cardinal landmark, the palace rises a further 170 meters and is the greatest monumental structure in all of Tibet.
Sera Monastery: Known as the 3 great monasteries of Tibet. All belonging to the lineage of Gelugpa started by Je Tsong Khapa in early 15th century and all are within Lhasa.
Norbulingka Park: It was built in the 1740s during the reign of the seventh Dalai Lama. Later it was renovated and enlarged and became the Dalai Lama's Summer Palace.

Day 03: Lhasa
Visit the Jokhang Temple, the Drepung Monastery, and the Lhasa Carpet Factory. (BL)

Jokhang Temple: The spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple.
Drepung Monastery: Once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks.

Day 04:

Lhasa - Gyangtse
Drive to Gyangtse. Visit the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, the Gyangtse Old Street and Palkhor Monastery. (BLD)

Yamdroktso Lake: One of the four holy lakes of Tibet, and legend has it that if the lake ever disappears, it will mark the end of Tibet.
Palkhor Monastery: A typical fifteenth Tibetan monastery, founded in 1418, its structural style is very unique.

Day 05:

Gyangtse - Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse. Visit the Tashilhunpo Monasteryand the New Palace of Panchen. (BLD)

Tashilhunpo Monastery: One of Tibet's most influential monasteries. It was founded in 1477 by Gendun Drubpa, the first Dalai Lama and a most outstanding disciple of Tsong Khapa.

Day 06: Shigatse - Lhasa
After breakfast, drive back to Lhasa. (BL)
Day 07: Departure
Transfer to the airport for the flight to your next destination. Service Ends. (B)

Quotation Includes

1. The economy-class air charges of the domestic flight or soft sleeper/seat train charge between cities as specified in the itinerary.

2. The hotel accommodation is based on two persons sharing one standard twin room with private facilities in all relevant locations. If a single client requests a twin room alone, the single room supplement will be charged.

3. For the land tour in each city, daily American breakfast is served in the hotel, and Chinese lunch and/or dinner will be served with two cups of soft drink outside the hotel. All meal arrangements are served as the itinerary specifies.

4. Private transfers for you and your party as a group between airports, train stations, hotels and all sightseeing spots. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

5. One private English-speaking guide and driver will accompany you on all normal sightseeing tours in each city.

6. Entrance fees to the tourist sites.

7. Should your tour include a cruise, then the shore excursion in groups and activities will be subject to the arrangements made by the cruise company.

8. China Life Tourist Accident/Casualty Insurance. We highly recommend that you purchase full coverage travel insurance from you country of origin.

9. The Tibet Travel Permit application fee applicable, if your tour includes Tibet.

 

 

Quotation Excludes

1. The international or domestic air/train charge of arrival and departure.

2. Expenses of a personal nature such as laundry, drink, telex, telephone calls or overweight baggage charges.

3. Charge of obtaining your visa to enter China.
