Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Kunming
Upon arrival in Kunming, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Visit the Bamboo Monastery.

Bamboo Monastery: A Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.) temple known for its Arhat statues, is the most famous of Kunming's temples. The present Bamboo temple was rebuilt in the Guangxu Era (1833 to 1890).
Day 02 Kunming - Shangri-la (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take morning flight to Shangri-la, our guide will meet you at airport and transfer to hotel in downtown area then tour to the Songzanlin Lama Temple.

Songzanlin Lama Temple: A typical Lama monastery. Located at the foot of Mt. Foping, four kilometers north of Zhongdian County, a monastery was first built here in 1679 and has been rebuilt many times.
Day 03 Shangri-La - Hongxing (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
After breakfast, drive 4 hours to a big Tibetan village - Luoji. After lunch, start the trekking tour with horses. Today, you will trek about 10 km from Luoji to another Tibetan village - Hongxing, following the Niru river valley path. The trekking will take about 5 hours. have dinner in local villager's house in Hongxing, or camping.
Day 04 Hongxing - Niru (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Trek from Hongxing to another Tibetan village - Niru, following the Niru river valley path. The trekking distance is 9 km which takes about 4 hours. Have a late lunch in Niru village upon arrival. Visit the Niru village elementary school, after dinner, have a bon-fire party with the Tibetan villagers and the students. Stay in local villager¡¯s house or camping.
Day 05 Niru - Shudu Lake (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Trek about 12 km from Niru to Shudu Lake, the trekking trip takes about 6 hours, have picnic lunch on the way. Set up Camp by the lake. Enjoy a bon-fire party at night. Camping.

Shudu Lake: The lake is known for its clear water, and the peaceful environment of the area around here. The lake abounds in unique species of fish, with double lips and a golden color. Bordering the lake is one of the best grazing fields in Zhongdian.
Day 06 Shudu Lake - Shangri-la - Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Drive from Shudu Lake to the Natural Bridge Hot Spring to have a good bath, then drive to Shangri-la to have lunch, in the afternoon, drive 4 hours to Lijiang, dinner is arranged by yourselves in Lijiang Ancient Town.

Lijiang Ancient Town: The county town of Lijiang is also called Dayanzhen, famous for its scientific architectural layout. Crisscrossed by crystal-clear rivers and meandering cobbled streets, it has a high research value and is a treasure in the field of urban construction in China.
Day 07 Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Baisha Murals and the Ancient Shuhe Village of Naxi People.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: The much famed mountain is situated some 15 km. north of Lijiang County, with thirteen peaks resembling jade pillars holding the sky, it stands majestically on the east side of the Jinshajiang River. The main peak, Mount Fan (Shanzifeng), is 5,596 m. above sea level, and is annually snowcapped.
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals are works of the Ming Dynasty, chiefly created from the Hongwu to the Wanli eras. They were originally distributed among the Juexiansi Temple and twelve others, nine of which fell to ruins. The remaining four temples have altogether 55 murals, with a total area of 139.22 sq. m.
Naxi people: Naxi literature is rich in form and content. Besides works by Naxi scholars and writers, there is a repository of oral folk literature.

Day 08 Lijiang - Kunming - Departure (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take morning flight to Kunming. City tour, visit Bird & Flower market. Transfer to Kunming airport to connect with your onward flight.

Service Includes

1. The economy-class air charges of the domestic flight or soft sleeper/seat train charge between cities as specified in the itinerary.
2. The hotel accommodation is based on two persons sharing one standard twin room with private facilities in all relevant locations. If a single client requests a twin room alone, the single room supplement will be charged.
3. For the land tour in each city, daily American breakfast is served in the hotel, and Chinese lunch and/or dinner will be served with two cups of soft drink outside the hotel. All meal arrangements are served as the itinerary specifies.
4. Private transfers for you and your party as a group between airports, train stations, hotels and all sightseeing spots. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.
5. One private English-speaking guide and driver will accompany you on all normal sightseeing tours in each city.
6. Entrance fees to the tourist sites.
7. Should your tour include a cruise, then the shore excursion in groups and activities will be subject to the arrangements made by the cruise company.
8. China Life Tourist Accident/Casualty Insurance. We highly recommend that you purchase full coverage travel insurance from you country of origin.

6. Single Room Supplement.
What is single supplement? - The hotel is based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone or the number of the travelers is odd (such as 3, 5, 7...), who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. As the hotel is on double occupancy.
