Temple: The present Golden Temple was built
in 1670 A.D. during the Ming Dynasty. It is the
most important and active Taoist temple in Kunming.
The whole structure of the temple is made from
bronze, weighs 280 tons and stands 6.7 metres
in height and 7.8 metres in width.
Temple: A Buddhist temple which was first
built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Verdant old
trees surround the temple and the peaks are always
curled up by cloud and mist. The most impressive
features in this temple are the 500 Arhat sculptures.
Compared with Bodhisattvas, Arhats look more like
human beings than Gods, and therefore they are
popular among the common people and monks.
Gate: A group of exquisite stone grottoes,
rooms and Buddhist figures carved with excellent
craftsmanship on a large natural rock. It is in
Western Hill, a forest reserve that is suited
