The Graveyard of the National Heroes

The graveyard lies at the foot of the Laifeng Hill, 3 kilometers southwest of the county seat. The construction was started in 1944 and completed on July 7, 1945. The graveyard was built to honour the martyres who gave their lives in the battle of recovering Tengchong. With a total area of 80 mu, it is now the country's largest cemetery for the martyrs who gave their lives during the Anti-Japanese War. In the graveyard, 8,000 Chinese soldiers are buried.
