Shanghai Museum
In some so-called metropolitans,
there usually stand some super-sized museums, symbolizing
the mighty of the countries. Most of the advanced countries
regard the construction and development of the museum as
the most important symbol of the civilization of a city,
and even a nation.
Shanghai museum locates in the heart of
People¡¯s Square. It is 24 meters high with five
floors, covering a construction space of 38,000 sqm. The
design depends on the macro environment, standing out the
culture and tradition, which implies an artistic conception
of round dome and square earth. This construction is the
combination of modern technology and Chinese traditional
art. In the arrangement of visitors and functions, the museum
employs an open display, thus it solves the special demands
such as quake prevention, fire prevention, stealth prevention,
